We have started rehearsals for our 2016 Valentine Show, Love Stories in Mayberry:  Rations and Romance.  We have been very successful with our Dinner Theater sinced we started doing Andy Griffith plays.  And why not?  The Andy Griffith show has not waned in popularity since the first show was televised on October 30, 1960.  Even though Mayberry was a fictional, small community, it was a place everybody wanted to be from. It was a place where everybody knew their neighbors and was willing to lend a hand when someone was in need.  Granville has been compared to Mayberry and as I was going to play practice one night I realized what they said was true.  As I turned on Clover Street I saw a very idyllic small town with rural simplicity.  It was absolutely breathtaking!  My chest swelled and my eyes filled with tears.  Because I was from Granville and I could identify with my favority TV show.  In one of the episodes Aunt Bee and Clara Edwards wrote a song titled "My Hometown."  The lyrics are,  "My hometown is the greatest place I know.  Where the neighbors I find are gentle and kind andthe living easy and slow.  My hometown is the only place to be.  Here the worries are small and the kids grow tall,  and strong and healthy and free.  It's my hometown, my hometown, Mayberry, Mayberry!"  These words are Granville!  So for some small town fun make your reservations by calling 931-653-4151 for our Valentine show.  Event dates are February 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 2016.  We promise you will have a wonderful meal and some great fun!!!!
