USO Show Comes to Granville

Historic Granville will have the Grand Opening Celebration of Remembering the 1940’s on April 8th.  This special day will feature the World War II Musical performers Freedom Belles as they p
erform their show “I’ll Be Seeing You” at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m..  The Freedom Belles are a trio performing music of the World War II time in our history. They travel nationwide performing a show that celebrates and commemorates history.  Their musical show includes patriotic music, music of Andrew Sisters and much more.  They are known for their musical performances to recreate the USS0 shows of World War II.  Granville will also feature on April 8th two World War II Maneuvers reenactments as re-enactors from all over Tennessee come to Granville to re-enact World War II.  The re-enactments will be performed at 12:00 and 1:30 p.m.   The day will also feature up to 1950’s antique cars displayed on main street of Granville with parade at 3:00 p.m.  Granville has exhibits that will be in place all year on the 1940’s with a special exhibit at the 1880 Sutton Home entitled “Maneuvers- They Came as Strangers And Left as Friends”, 1940 automobiles at Antique Car Museum and Remembering the 1940’s Exhibit at Granville Museum.  April 8th will also feature a Genealogy Festival and the second Annual Upper Cumberland Wine Festival.  For more information call 931-653-4151 or granvilletn.com.
